Install Location
Open the .zip file you downloaded, open the XfrogMaya folder, go the “MAC OS X” folder, then inside open the version of Xfrog that matches your version of Maya. For this walkthrough, we used Xfrog 5.3 for Maya 2015 sp 2, but these steps will work for older or newer versions of Xfrog. Inside this folder you will find “Icons”, “plug-ins” and “scripts” folders.

In another Finder window, navigate to /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/2015 as shown above (If you are using an older version, you will see a folder for that version). Inside, you will see “icons”, “plug-ins” and “scripts” folders. Drag and drop the contents of your Xfrog folders to the corresponding folders in ‘2015’.
If you do not see any folders in your 2015 folder, you can create them yourself, or simply drag the entire “icons”, “plug-ins” and “scripts” folders from Xfrog.

You can install Xfrog into any of these locations, however we have found that /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/2015, as described above is the easiest, and works the best.
Loading the Xfrog Shelf
Launch Maya. Go to the “Modify shelf” menu, and go to “Load Shelf”
This will launch the dialog box shown below, where you will navigate to the Xfrog shelf. The path is /Users/Shared/Autodesk/maya/2015/scripts/shelf_Xfrog4.mel

Load Xfrog
You will now see the loaded Xfrog Shelf. Click the green “Load Xfrog” arrow. This will launch Xfrog, and bring up the About Xfrog window, which gives options for getting either a Temporary Key, or a Permanent License. For help registering, please see our Registration Help.
Auto Load Xfrog
To have Xfrog load automatically when you launch Maya, go to the Plug-in Manager (Window > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager)

Find “Xfrog4Maya.bundle” and click the “Auto load” checkbox:
Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:
Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window. Click the gear icon labeled Options, then click Continue.
Make sure that your Mac has a connection to the internet. Then turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold Command (⌘)-R until you see an Apple logo or other image.
If you're asked to select a user you know the password for, select the user, click Next, then enter their administrator password.
Select Reinstall macOS from the utilities window in macOS Recovery, then click Continue and follow the onscreen instructions.

After installation is complete, your Mac might restart to a setup assistant. If you're selling, trading in, or giving away your Mac, press Command-Q to quit the assistant without completing setup. Then click Shut Down. When the new owner starts up the Mac, they can use their own information to complete setup.
